founding my design and product journey ★

community is one of my largest values and paths into design. i have so many great friends from it <3 hear a bit about how i carved my design presence at yale

  1. my first time in the studio. three of us, a makerspace full of tools, and the sudden realization that yale had almost no home for product designers. that gap is what made me want to build one.

  2. took over the chapter, recruited a board and a co-founder, and showed up at extracurricular bazaar with a real booth. navy tablecloth, qr codes, and the start of growing from a handful of people into an actual studio.

  3. kickoff with the full board in matching dfa shirts. the first time it felt less like a side project and more like a community we were responsible for shaping.

  4. hosted my first workshop on 3d printing and modeling at the ceid. teaching the thing i was still learning myself, and watching people leave with something they made.

  5. hosted my first ever regional design meetup. designers from across campuses in one room, sticky notes everywhere, and proof that the community could travel past yale.

  6. helped host a config watch party in nyc. name tag on, face on the screen, and a reminder that community work can scale from a campus club to the wider design world.
